I like the new one, and unless I'm mistaken in my Mythology knowledge, it is a reference to your old one. Was Atlas not the Titan who held the world?

You got it, i love greek mythology and i love atlas in bioshock so i said hey atlas is a sweet ass titan so thats how i came up with it

Haha nice, yeah Matt told me you were a big mythology guy so I figured it must be a reference to that. Also, that's a pretty sick avatar.

Interestingly enough, Atlas is actually a reference to an Ayn Rand novel called 'Atlas Shrugged,' and it was upon her writings that Andrew Ryan's philosophies were based. Still haven't read any of her stuff, right enough.

@Oberael, I thought this was common knowledge, the Bioshock series is based on Ayn Rands philosophical beliefs, especially those in Atlas Shrugged, It doesnt take an English major to figure out that the name Andrew Ryan is practically an anagram of Ayn Rand.

Read her literature, its very beneficial, Comparing her beliefs to those Rapture is founded on is interesting too.


Funny tidbit, in the book We the Living (obviously by Ayn Rand) The word "Enraptured" Is about three sentences in on the first page. Wonder where the got the name rapture from.....

Rapture is based on those beliefs, not Bioshock.
